What is wrong with my GTI Please Help!
« on: February 17, 2023, 08:40:53 am »
Hello all,

I recently (5 months ago) purchased a 2007 Golf GTI MK5 (68,500km done) and as of last week its been playing up.

I went for a long trip (3 hours) and about 2.5 hours in I got stuck in slow moving traffic and when getting on and off the accelerator it would jolt and jerk in lower gears (1-3) and felt quite rough to drive.

I took it into the dealership and they did a DSG Reset and Throttle Body reset and cleaned it out.

The car still feels weird and rough to drive and now also doesn't produce boost correctly and has hesitancy around the 2000rmp when pulling... :/

Any information or suggestions as to what it could be would be muchly appreciated

Probably need to scan for codes as first step really. Vcds is the all inclusive but pricey scan tool, Obdeleven is like a economy version with a mobile app which does the same thing but just lacks in terms of logging and adaptions.

Throttle body issues can have weird intermittent symptoms like this sometimes but it would throw up a fault most likely.
