How to flush radiator?
« on: March 03, 2023, 07:27:19 pm »
Hi all

What's the best way to flush the rad? I can see the bottom hose and it has that metal circlip which i have pulled off, but it doesn't seem to want to come off.  What else can I do, I don't wanna break it ?  Is there another way?

Stick a pick into it, heat it up a little with a heat gun, pair of grips over the top of a towel to not brake it. It will come off eventually. Some wd40 can't hurt either.

Pull from memory. If you can put a little wd40 on the fitting, get a pick in there if you can to move it around a little and get a pair of grips over a towel or rag of some sort and squeeze it and just rock it forwards and backwards it should make its way loose. It's only rubber on plastic so shouldn't weld itself down but will need some persuasion/brute force with a little care to not brake it.

I'll try wd40 and a pick or thin flat head screw driver  :happy2:

Can't do it from inside the bonnet!!. Gonna have to jack her up, take off the charge pipe and see if that makes it any easier!..
