Condensation on rear windows and mould on internal seals
« on: March 23, 2023, 08:30:12 pm »
Hi, hoping for some help.
Mk5 Golf 4dr, 08 plate.
Front lower corner of both rear windows permanently has a vertical area of condensation about the size of a finger.
It is in identical areas on both rear windows.
Internal seals at same areas are damp and trying to turn mouldy.
All rubber seals around windows seem to be OK, but horizontal seals between door skins and window looks like there is a bit missing [on both sides ??].
There is a gap of about 3-4mm which is where it looks to be letting the rain in.
Anyone else had this? What did you do to resolve it permanently?
Cheers

My 5dr also has it. I find the best solution is to ignore it. Works a treat for me lol

I tend to ignore it. I've had both door skins off to replace door locks and tried to see if there's any obvious reason why it happens and failed.

It only happens when it's damp in the air and it's fine during summer.
