Mk5 Gti not starting, leaky sunroof tubes
« on: March 30, 2023, 03:16:29 pm »
Hi everyone newbie here,
First post.....
My Mk5 Gti, found I had a puddle of water in drivers side footwell on Tuesday. Turns out the front sunroof drain tubes had come off both at sunroof end and under scuttle panel. When leaking I believe water has got into fuse panel on drivers side (as was wet when the cover was removed) and car not starting at all now.
Battery not flat, everywhere has been wet vacuumed and dried out now, tubes reattached and blown through to ensure they're clear.
Where would you start to get it turning over again please?
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thank you

You will need to get a scan tool on it and see which modules no longer communicate, but you've seen the rats nest of wires under there, it could literally be anything.

If it's not turning over, as in the crank position on the ignition switch does nothing, start by checking the ignition switch circuits/fuses.  There are fuses in the engine bay as well.

Thank you, I’ve just checked codes on vcds and this is what I got.
I think it could be the bottom two faults that are causing it?
Check fuses first do we think pls?
Thanks again
