What’s the best oil?

What oil do you all use in your mk6 GTI’s? I’ve been using castrol 5w30 but saw something about using a thicker oil as the car won’t burn through it as quickly then   :signLOL:

This is a Mk5 area but very similar engine the Mk6.

I change my oil every 6 months using TPS Quantum stuff as it is quite cheap.

I use 5W40 in the summer and original spec 5W30 in the winter, as find the 5W40 in winter takes a lot longer for the engine to warm up with the short journeys I do.

Works for me.
