Gear Knob Refurbishing
« on: May 02, 2023, 01:02:34 pm »
Has anyone had there gear knob leather replaced? The leather on my ED30 one has worn through. Does anyone have any contacts who might be able to do it?

Thanks

Might be worth asking your local dealership cost on a genuine replacement if you want factory look.

Yes there's no way I'd consider buying a new one from a dealer.

Yeah it's mental.  The parts guy couldn't believe that price either   Anything leather and/or seat related is ridiculous money!

Genuine Edition 30 is over £400 for the knob and the boot. Crazy money.

Have you looked at replacing the leather boot separately? Looks like an easy job.

The boot's fine, it's the leather on the knob itself that's worn through.

Ah yeah that's a good point actually. £450 is for the entire knob and gaiter assembly. I forgot that. It's the red stitching you see. It clearly costs a lot of money to swap thread colour in the sewing machine.
