Intake Screws
« on: June 26, 2021, 06:48:14 pm »
Will take a photo when I get time, but where the standard intake fits into the front grill part, there are 2 screws that hold it in place. Mine are gone and I need some new ones as it keeps falling apart, can anyone recommend where I can get the right screws for the job? Cheers

Personally I just get them off ebay for a couple quid, does the job. Just type "vw torx screws" in there and tons show up.

They are a small head, short T20 bolt

Be careful when you screw them in and don't overtighten them because you'll strip the hole...ask me how I know.

Nothing a couple of new 'speed clips', as VW call them, can't sort  :happy2:

That front snorkel arrangement is quite a clever bit of kit.  I cringe when I see aftermarket intakes solidly mounted to the front grille with no means of dropping water out of the air stream

Sorry for bumping into an old conversation. Losing screws can be frustrating. It's always a good idea to replace them to keep things secure. You can try checking out your local hardware store or even online retailers for the right screws.
