R32 Sat Nav aux input cable
« on: May 31, 2023, 06:19:05 am »
Morning everybody! I have just bought another R32 but this one has Sat Nav, I would like to use my iPhone 11 (lightning adapter) to play music. There is lots of stuff on the market to buy but it confuses me easily. Which cable(s) do I need to buy to enable me to replace the CD aux so I can use my phone? This is an image of the same unit in the car, sorry I don’t know the name/code of it..

Anyone done this recently as the links I’ve checked have usually expired so have no idea what the previous person has ordered

Thanks

Just reading through it thank you. Will check those links out and talk to the companies…thank you. Really would like my steering wheel controls to still work with volume/track etc so hopefully can be done. I actually have factory fitted Bluetooth for my phone but not sure it streams music…not had the tile to look into it.

Seems we have the same car Andy as well

Right I have just ordered this from https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254699289354?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=owxUDzwwQsC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=6wh9NQLmT3O&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I’m guessing this is all I need to Bluetooth my music? Anyone used these? I absolutely HATE stereo equipment…I just want to play music so I don’t have to listen to the awful radio. I’m guessing my last R32 had a RNS510 fitted with a lead fitted for my phone so just plugged in. This is all I’m after if someone points me in the right direction. I didn’t fit it so don’t know what the hell I am buying

The model you have is the mdf2 so the early model..does your phone answer through the header unit!!...
Best buying the kenwood unit that was made for the vw

I honestly haven’t have time to look…it has a factory fitted Bluetooth for phone (calls) that is above my head on the drivers side. Unsure if this has any ability to connect for music. I’m happy with a lead to plug in to be honest that connects to the CD changer port
