Hi All,

Today I was driving my Stage 1 Edition 30 and all of a sudden I noticed that I had lost a lot of power.

The car still revs through to redline, but it feels like it has no boost. Revs climb very linear and very slowly.
If I let off at like 5k the car has started backfiring/popping and i'm getting a HARD engine brake feeling.

Ive gone down the usual steps;

Checked DV - fine
Checked PCV with blow test - fine
Cam follower was due, changed that, barely any wear on the old one.

I recorded a video of my exhaust once I got home, it seemed to be shaking a lot and the idle tone was a bit spluttery (it's got a res delete, but stock apart from that)

Any ideas what my next port of call is? I've got no method of scanning unfortunately so probably needs to go in to a garage on wednesday

99% sure one of your intercooler pipes has come off.

When I had my edition 30 I had the passenger one come off , I could get to it from under the bonnet to see if it was detached.

Get yourself some axle stands!

Problem with mine was the securing tag on the push in connector had corroded off, meaning a new hose required. think it was around £70 genuine

Have a look at this video if you can mate, if these are the right hoses then they’re pretty gunked up, all are rigid except one, just gonna clean them now.

I’d be shocked if this was the problem honestly, will see!!

Changed all those and still got the issue,

This is a video of me with my foot down and you can see it revs all the way…

There’s also a weird cracking sound around 5k..

It’s going in on Tuesday for a service so I’ll get all spark plugs and I’ll get new coil packs then get him to smoke test / diagnose

Update for the forums future reference.

Coil Pack 1 seized & spark plug burnt out.

Inlet manifold had a slight crack (causing initial boost leak which I'd had for a couple months)
Inlet manifold flaps collapsed and came loose, could've easily ended up in the cylinder or got jammed under the valves, so I'm considering my self lucky.

Yeah the crackling at 5K sounds like bad boost control to me, which could be the N75 as you've done.

Ideally, you need that ol' VCDS bad boy to data log a journey and then upload the csv file to the forum so us nerds can analyse it for you.\

The misfiring at idle sounds like classic goosed injectors, or one or 2 of them at least.

Have you done a compression test on it?
