Power folding mirrors module help
« on: July 05, 2023, 11:47:49 pm »
I have tried searching, and although I get some info, I'm still confused as what to get.

I have fitted power fold mirrors I had laying around for a while to my 5 door edition 30. I have a few questions that I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction without guessing or assuming.

It appears "GEN3 MAX" are the go to? But how does one know what GEN3 MAX are when searching for new (used) modules?

Part number isn't one to go off it seems, as there are multiple 'colour code' versions, depending is PR numbers.

I did have the modules but for some reason, I could not get the windows to auto run on when turning ignition off (as window/s were going up). I have since misplaced the modules anyway.

I have VCP also if it is needed for anything.

Or better yet, if anyone has any for sale that would be ideal!

Apologies for creating a new post on a topic that has been covered a few times, I'm just struggling to see what it is I definitely need. Don't want to be buying modules after modules.

Cheers

I used these in my Mk5 and they work perfect. I also used VCP to enable auto folding from the key and auto unfold when you open the driver's door or turn on the ignition.

Thank you for the reply.

I managed to find a local breaker yard with 2 modules so I got the cars details and found it came factory fitted with power fold and entry light which is what I have fitted.

Part numbers on these are 1K0959701N / 1K0959793K, the other module is the same except the digits that identifies which side it is.

So hopefully I got a result!

When it comes to VCP, is everything straight forward in terms of ticking options or is there some knowledge to be had such as changing string of bytes for certain characters? Never used my VCP for anything like this yet.

I originally tried the Mk5 part number module with my folding mirrors and I couldn't get VCP to program it, where others could with the same part number. I believe it came down to the software version on the particular module.
The VCP programming is really easy as it has a built in option for the folding mirrors coding.
