I have acquired H&R lowering springs! Is the installation process the same for a mk5 as a mk7? I found a video on YouTube, but it is for a mk7. Also, do the driveshaft bolts need to be loosened for the front spring install?

for the front the only bolts you undo are the 3 at the top of the strut and then the sway bar end link connecting to the strut, the 1 bolt holding the knuckle to the strut then you pry open the knuckle with the tool and the strut will slide up and out
the rear is super easy its 1 bolt on the sub frame connecting to the hub
