took tcr into dealer for inspection service no probs except £46 to renew cabin filter declined. Whilst there the sales manager came over and said how great my car looked and said he could offer me a once only deal on a R didnt have time to go into detail he asked me to call back. Should I?

A "once only deal" off a salesman? Sounds like typical salesman tactics.

Get the info of the "deal" only if you genuinely could see yourself changing cars.

I just can't be bothered with their nonsense, "just need to speak to my manager", "I've already had loads of interest in the car", "someone wants to come in tomorrow to put a deposit down on it", "even I couldn't get this deal and I work here", etc etc.

The only deal I would entertain is a straight swap.  He approached you, remember.  You hold the cards.

Personally, MK8s look sh1te, so I would keep the TCR personally.
