Nice headunit. Where did you get that? I bought the RCD330 ages ago and for most things is absolutely fine for me but I hate that the usb cable sticks out the front. I upgraded my speakers and although I found the sound really crisp there was a lack of volume. I just installed a mini amp and that has made a huge difference with really strong sound and clarity.

Tbh, the internal amp isn't amazing but it does have a pretty good equaliser where you can get a decent sound out of it. I have also got another amp and stuff to install (Audison) but just haven't got round to it yet

I wasn't expecting much for the money but I'm really impressed to be fair

I have never managed to find if it is still on the road though, DVLA just says that the reg is incorrect!

No real plans other than to keep the maintenance up and keep it clean. Next on the cards is a wheel refurb now I have the tyres sorted.

Also gonna get the DSG box serviced and give it an oil change.

Maybe will get it mapped at some point in the future

Oh I also have my sounds to put in but will get to that soon enough!

miltek is the go to imo, good quality with an amazing sound

i recommend the non res version over the res

Nice Ed30  , I have the same combo as you an  Ed30dsg and a mk1 with a 1.8T. Like you recently picked up an Edition 30 after previously having a mk5 gti.

If you are thinking about tuning suggest you plan that out in advance. Standard Milltek sounds good but I don't believe it is the best flowing. Not so much an issue if you have a GTI but may limit you if you want a strong 2+ car. BCS is really nice quality and flows well, lots of options for sound/cats.

So eventually got round to getting an exhaust - went with Milltek as it was a pretty decent price and I do like the sound of it.

To be honest, considering how rusty it was, it came off a doddle!







Although, that isn't the end of the jobs - I have developed a rattle upon startup so I have bought all of the gear to change the timing chain and tensioner (even though I did check blocks 91 and 93 and it looked OK from what I've read)



I got a P0011 code and it cleared for a bit but has come back - the car is due a service also so going to do that as well as a DSG oil and filter change - busy day tomorrow!

Haha not a bad combo to have is it!

I've had the MK1 for 15 years but have only recently done the conversion - it is running now but it still in the final stages of completion, exhaust and pedal box being the main hurdles to get over, although both are in hand
