MK5 GTI Ko3 Fuel injectors - are they all the same?
« on: August 29, 2023, 11:03:23 am »
Hello,

As per title - are all MK5 GTI Ko3 injectors the same? Were they revised or remained the same throughout production?

I require 4 x Ko3 injectors (preferably refurbished) for my 09 Year MK5.

Thanks.

I bought replacement injectors on eBay. They were reasonably priced/cheap. When my trusted garage came to fit them, they did an injector test and the spray patterns were all over the place. I don't think you can scrimp on these. Buy decent/OEM. I bought 4 cheap ones off eBay and paid £180. If you need new injectors, then you'll probably going to have to budget at least £800 for decent ones.
Mine still need replacing, so if anyone can suggest decent "cheap" ones I'd be all over that. Recent change to where my wife works means the car does get an "Italian tune-up" on a daily basis. Still want affordable/good injectors. At 200,000+ miles the car deserves it 🙂

Thanks for the reply. The research I’ve done so far I’ve had similar responses to what you’ve mentioned… can’t believe how expensive the injectors are.
I was going to buy 4x genuine injectors used on eBay send them off to R-Tech to have them refurbished/flow matched.

You'll have to bite the bullet I'm afraid.  They're £180 ish on Autodoc for Bosch.  They just wear out mechanically and cannot be effectively repaired that lasts long enough to be worth the effort.
