My gti makes a squealing noise when it’s warmed up, probably after about 15-20 minutes of driving. It’s only on idle/ low revs and goes away after about 2k-2.5k revs. However the noise stays if you rev in neutral but doesn’t seem to be speed dependent as it can be heard while driving with low engine speed. It also doesn’t change tone with the rev range which makes me eliminate pulley belt ideas
. It starts off inconsistent and then the more you drive it becomes louder and consistent. Also I feel like it goes away with hard cornering but not sure of this as it’s hard to do while remaining at low engine speed. I feel like it’s coming from the gearbox side but it’s hard to pinpoint as it echos around the engine bay.
P.s it’s a DSG car and I have no idea when the box was last serviced although previous owner claimed it was done recently (I’ve had the car 2 weeks)
