Built engine requirements for 500hp
« on: October 18, 2023, 09:02:18 pm »
Hi all, im going stage 3 next year and am aiming for 450bhp, im considering doing rods and pistons for a more reliable setup, what are some good brands rated for 500HP, and what else should/need to upgrade, there is a 1000hp built engine kit from bar-tek i was looking at.

Idealy i want an engine capable of 500hp for a 'kill map'

i will be using meth with this setup

For 450-500 that will last more than 5 minutes, you will need:

TTE480 or equivalent turbo
Rods
Pistons
Intercooler - a big f'cker
ARP Rod bolts
ARP head stud kit
Stage 2 pump internals
TTRS lift pump
3.5" downpipe and probably 3" 'cat back'
A lot of tyres
A lot of petrol
A lot of engine oil
Ear plugs
Balance shaft delete. They won't cope with that much power and rpm.
1.8T oil pump conversion probably not a bad idea.
DSG remap to increase clutch clamping force, or better still, a beefed up clutch packs..... or beefed up clutch if it's a manual.
Fluidampr
150 bar fpr
Bigger injectors

You definitely don't want a kill map. A brill map is what you want. You will need to discuss mapping with your tuner as stock MAF housing size is borderline at that flow rate.
