Which discs and pads?

Ok so what are the best discs and pads for my 2005 gti front brakes? And where's the cheapest place to get them from?  :signLOL:

I'd go for standard discs and mintex 1144 with a nice fluid change.

I'm looking at Black Diamond disks for my next change, they seem pretty damn good!

Hmmmm I had heard some dodgy reports about those black diamond discs. Apparently they are just some cheap Chinese rubbish imported and given a nice black coating! Might just be a load of rubbish and they're actually ok? Who knows lol

Just plain OEM discs are fine... and then some good pads if you want the extra performance.

For stage 1 power the std discs and pads will be fine. Try TPS parts as they have good discount on brakes.  I used the same set up at stage 2+ but I didn't go on the track.

In my experience, most 'fast road' disks have a shorter life than OEM, yet cost more.. unless the car is heavily tuned and/or used on the track, a decent uprated pad and possibly uprated fluid is the best choice in combination with OEM discs  :happy2:

I would go with some OE discs and some good pads, as mentioned above. I run OE discs and Fereodo OE replacement pads on my Golf, but this is with an R32 brake conversion. They're pretty damn good at stopping my stage 1 tuned car.
