First time posting here, just wondered if anyone could shed some light on some issue I'm currently having.
I have owned a GT Diesel 170bhp mk5 from new back in 2007.
Recently it started smoking like a steam train, pretty thick black smoke constantly, took it to a local garage, and as you can imagine it's ended up needing a ton of work.
EGR valve was knackered, the inlet manifold was in pretty bad condition, and it turns out the Injectors are also dead.
The injectors alone are going to cost £511 each, requiring 4. I believe they are the dreaded Siemens Piezo injectors? and i heard VW had a recall on these some years back? although i never got a letter at the time, and it's the first time even reading about it.
The car has only done 65k miles from new, so it's pretty sad state of affairs, i tried to contact VW UK but they insist no recall we ever made on the car for it's injectors, i just wondered if anyone had other information on things from back then?
