s3 8p alloy hubs on mk5 gti

Hi, does anyone know if s3 2009 hubs will fit my ed30? and whats the benefits except them not rusting?

8p s3 hubs do fit on to the mk5 yes. Well the gti hub is solid thick cast iron it's going to take 50 years for them to actually start to rust through, alloy doesn't rust but it still corrodes. But anyway they're a bit lighte being alloy so less unsprung weight, aside from that they're the same. The TT hubs give a higher roll centre and extend the track width but they don't bolt on so simply like the other VAG choices, they need the TT control arms at a minimum, some say they require the TT driveshaffs and steering arms but I've also known people to just bolt them straight on so yeah not as simple to do.

The alloy hubs from S3 and Passat B6 are @2kg (each) lighter, so good saving in unsprung weight especially if the alloy lower arms are fitted at the same time. I believe they give a slightly different angle for the tie rods, which sharpens up the steering. @Pudding knows more about this.

open to correction on this, but I've read on here where lads had issues with big/aftermarket brake kits and the alloy hubs too

It certainly appeared that way as my steering response felt much quicker after the Passat hubs. Wider track as well. 8mm per side iirc.
