MK6 GTi steering wheel retrofit onto MK5 airbag requirements
« on: January 13, 2024, 04:59:45 am »
Hi guys, I know there are a few guide/run-through threads on here regarding this retrofit but some of the information was a bit unclear so wanted to clarify especially regarding the airbag (I like my teeth in place).

I can buy a Mk6 GTi wheel with MFSW and paddles which I would like to retrofit onto my MK5 GTi with no MFSW and no paddles.
From what I've gathered reading around, I will need the wheel, airbag, mk6 airbag loom, and mk6 steering wheel controller (only for the MFSW buttons some people say?).
Is there anything else that is needed? I have access to a copy of VCDS to do the coding for the buttons. Aside from that, I understand the paddles are meant to be plug-and-play.

Some concise info/confirmation would be appreciated!
