Cold Start Revs
« on: January 14, 2024, 10:21:58 am »
Usually upon cold start, the revs are at around 1100rpm for a minute or so before dropping to normal idle speed. In recent weeks this has stopped happening and even at around freezing temps at cold start the revs aren’t high then low, they’re just always at normal operating rpm. Any reason why?

I think you'll find this is normal, I noticed the same thing this year and in recent weeks when it got really cold the revs would drop instantly and I assumed the thermostat had gone again. I did a bit of research and apparently it's the way the ECU deals with colder than usual temps, it efficiently tries to warm the engine up faster. Off the top of my head anyway. :happy2:
