I think there are a few eBay sellers that do this.

Very easy to fit. Just turn the badge anti-clockwise whilst pulling slightly upwards and it will turn and release. Re-fitting is easy again, just turn clockwise and it should just click into place.

Do it yourself, I did my front 'VW' emblem and I've got the 'GTI' for the rear to go on in black too - it's very satisfying and not all that hard.

If you already have some stuff in the garage/cupboard like paint and lacquer it'll only cost a couple of quid to do...

If you don't have some of the materials, buy it already done. :happy2:

Sand using, er...  sandpaper, then prime and spray!  :happy2:

Halfrauds sell a project pack of various grades of wet & dry sandpaper for about £2.50, IIRC.

If you end up having to buy paint (£6), primer (£6) and lacquer (£?) then it's cheaper to buy it. I had all the necessary materials apart from the wet & dry, so I thought I'd give it a go.

You should also consider that if you think it ends up looking sh*t it will be pretty impossible to get it silver again!

Just don't do it sh*t, then.   :signLOL:

Preparation is the hardest work. Maybe a quick rub-down between coats of paint helps too.

After seeing several VW's with painted front badges, I'd never even consider it. They are nearly all pock marked with chips and look pretty awful. Either wrap it or buy a black one.  :happy2:
Golf R gone.

Nah, I just meant looking sh*t in terms of the colour change, not the finish.

Sprayed mine and it just chipped time after time so I got bored and wrapped it in CF which is easy enough. Looks better too IMO.

I bought mine from dubstopimports too. Was maybe £16? Was quick despite being an import?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
