Oil pressure warning light
« on: February 05, 2024, 01:41:04 pm »
Hi guys, I replaced my oil pump with a reconditioned one about two months ago. All has been fine until today when the low oil pressure warning light came on. Has anyone experienced this and what was the issue. I have researched a little bit and it seems there are a number of options. I am now considering the 1.8T oil pump conversion. If anyone has done it please let me know how it went..

Hi, did you get this fixed?

Unfortunately low oil pressure is very complex and there's no simple go-to solution. Ideally you could tell us the exact oil pressure in BAR/psi at idle, 1000,2000 and 3000 RPM with the car warmed up by measuring with a manual oil pressure gauge hooked up.

But if you aren't able to do that easily, could you said in what situations you're getting low oil pressure? E.g., at cold start, fully warmed up, what RPMs etc. And if there are any weird sounds or smells.
