Roof Bars

Evening all, anyone got any suggestions for a set of roof bars for the mk5? Wanting somewhere to put the bike.

I know VW did some but I’ve only seen 2 sets on eBay and they aren’t that great condition considering the price.

I bought a decent set of used genuine mk6 VW bars (fit the mk5 without issue) and then a couple of the genuine VW bike rakes that slot on to match.  Really good kit in my opinion.........and the bars have been very useful. I even invested in a new Thule roofbox for trips away, to keep the car clear (kids take a lot of cr@p LOL).

This thing......also look for the SEAT versions, as they are identical.



The genuine bars do pop up quite cheap.........bought my set for £50 and the bike holders about £75 each on eBay.

Mint, cheers for the replies and the links! Very helpful, haha yeah I can see a roof box coming in the future, my boy is 2 and a bit now but I can imagine the stuff getting more as the years go on 😂
