ambient lights on a mk5

Hello, its my fisrt post here and im not sure i am doing it right. i am curently instaling a ambient light kit on my mk5 tdi interior trims. i would like it to look as oem as possible.
found a kit that does not require passing wires thru the door jam as they have a master-slave function, but all 5 controlers must be powered by 12v.
i have instaled the dashboart trim and have it hooked up to the 12v on the back of the cigarette lighter. so far works like a charm but i was probing arround on the windows switch harness for the driver door and i cound not find a 12v that only had power on ignition.
if anyone would  have a sugestion it would be amazing.

i got it from aliexpress. its a kit that does not require passing wire thru the door jam, as each led bar is controled by a slave module simply powered by a 12v source. i got power from the door handle ambient light pins as my car did not came with that option. activated it with vcds and now when i turn the headlights on all the door cards light up. as for the dash it remains always lit, but i can be turned off in the app.

First of all, I’d like to thank you for all the detailed information. I’ve actually purchased the same kit and am planning to install it.
Could you provide more details about the pin in the door controller for the ambient light? Also, if you have any VCDS instructions, would you mind sharing them?
