Where would you go with £23k
« on: April 06, 2024, 07:50:07 am »
Sold my Edition 30 last year and do miss it but moving forward im struggling to decide where to go next.
Cant be too ruinous to run as its a daily and budget around £23k.
Currently thinking of a 7.5 R or 8P RS3, the latter interests me because of the engine.
Not looked into the special editions such as clubsports etc.
Part of me thinks a 7.5 Gti PP would be the best compromise with money to spare.
Where would you go?

How old are you and where are you in life etc? Going from a VAG hot hatch to a slightly newer VAG hot hatch is no bad thing but what about something like an M4? RS4 Avant, C63?

Im 50 so out of my boy racer stage !
Lots of cars appeal really, not considered the ones you mention as they can be fairly expensive to run although they are epic cars.
The B7 RS4 would be good if you can find a decent one but again fairly pricey to run.
Not done the M car thing yet, an M2 may be an option though as i prefer something smaller but they are a bit sketchy on the rear end.

They are all good choices if you want to stay with VAG.  The RS3 will have you at the Shell station quite often and you'll have boy racers up your backside constantly   They go and sound amazing though.

I'm the same age and went from an Edition 30 to an F30 330d, mainly due to the massively increased mileage, but it's proven to be a quick and fun car.

I would definitely get an M out of your system if you can afford it.  Running costs aren't that bad and they're easy to work on if you like DIY. Much easier than my ED30 ever was!

Maybe look at leasing if you don't do huge miles? Pretty reasonable deals on 8000 mile plans.
