Possible gains on stock engine with k03 hybrid?
« on: June 11, 2024, 09:54:19 am »
Hello, everyone

I have a mk5 gti with the axx engine.
It currently has a stage 1 and the rest is stock, I am considering changing the turbo for a hybrid k03 since the installation of it will be easier for me.

I wonder if anyone can tell me the possible power I can gain by installing a k03 hybrid and keeping the rest stock?

By the way, do you think I have to do a remap again after changing the turbo already having a stage 1?

Lastly, in case you know, what do you think is the next part that will be power limiting after changing the turbo, maybe the hpfp or the injectors or other?

Thanks for your help and advice

From what I know a ko3 might put you in low 300s without upgrading hpfp or injectors, but around 350 if you do. I’d say get a k04, but in my opinion anything over 300 hp and you need to take care of the rods as they are prone to fail over 300.

And yes, a custom remap for your car will be required.
