High milage remap reliability?
« on: July 05, 2024, 08:21:36 pm »
I have a mk5 gti from 2004 (AXX). I am thinking about getting it remapped with a stage 1 tune. It has done about 306.000 km (190.000 miles). What is your experince with remapping as far as reliability goes?
It has a 3'' downpipe, cold air intake and turboback milltek exhaust so I am guessing it will be pushing 250+ hp. It is a manual so the clutch might slip. What do you think? Go or no go?

Don't worry about it, just go for it.

My ED30 was remapped most of it's life and stlll going strong at 180K when I sold it with Stage 1.  All 4 cylinders still measured 14 bar compression.
