Aircon / climate control turns on by itself

Hi guys, as the title says I've just been out in my car and the aircon and climate control is turning on by itself. I press off and then notice it comes on again by itself after a few minutes. I had to turn it off at least 3/4 times on a 15 minute drive.

Can anyone shed any light on what the issue is.

If you've set the HVAC to Auto, it will come on and off to meet the target interior temperature.  If you've turned the HVAC fully off, no auto, no fan speed, no temperature and its coming on by itself, fault code check the HVAC module as cabin temp sensor could be faulty.
