VW Golf Mk5 2008 Key Fob proggramming/pairing with VAGCOM
« on: August 08, 2024, 03:56:07 pm »
Hi everyone,

Got my car a while ago (my first ever car so didn't really know what to check), came with 2 keys/fobs. My fobs never worked (I assume they are not the OG ones for the car but the frequency matches) , I can enter the car with the key but I have to turn ignition on and manually open other doors. Recently got a VAGCOM cable and following the instructions I cleared previous fobs and paired the new ones, during the adaptation process the hazard lights flash  when I press the buttons on the fobs so they send signal to the car but they still don't work. Anything else I can check?
I saw in other posts that a faulty fuse could cause it as well, which one that would be? I'm very new to this whole car troubleshooting world.

Thank you

VAGCOM is quite old now and may need to change to VCDS
