Golf GTI Mk5 Headliner Material
« on: August 21, 2024, 11:50:29 am »
Can anyone recommend a supplier for material which is a good match for the Golf GTI mk5 headliner.

Mine is a very dark grey with a weve pattern.

I will do it myself and have the glue can, just need to find the right headliner material.

Plucking up the guts to have a go at the headliner which is sagging at the back. Mines a sunroof eddy so a bit more involved. I found in this forum an old link to these people on ebay. Its a tad darker than the original but may be a good fit. No idea about uv resistance but its the only one I found.

Thanks for the reply.

Funny I just got a sample from EU Fabrics which is 'Titanium 2mm foam backed' which is lighter than the original (see smaller offcut).

I'm going to get a black sample from Fabric UK as well.

After a lengthy chat with a local car upholstery company I have decided to get the headliner done professionally… I know I know .. but actually I couldn’t be arsed and would rather spend my time on other stuff.  So signed up and booked in for October … he’s really busy lol.

The material is a better match as well. So more money to keep my pride and joy which I have to say is my daily drive and still makes me smile.

Cheers

Ok so update on material for those who are interested.

I've had a sample of black from Fabric UK, which is the darkest but closer to the original than the titanium.
