56K is nothing, although it's not necessarily mileage/age related, but rather maintenance, or lack thereof that causes it.

I just got these pics from one I helped for having a persistent P0087 after replacing everything.
I posted the tri-lobe specs and he checked his and found he needed a new cam. When swapping the cam he posted these pics. It is obvious his replacement is slightly used, but measures well at 42.5 mm.
I wanted to share what just a bit over 1.5mm of wear looks like:

Sorry for resurrecting an old post but I have been chasing the P0087 code for a while now and pulled the HPFP and measured the lobes vs the base circle and am getting a lift of 4.6, 4.6 and 4.8 that is wore but not nearly what I have seen in other posts here. Does anyone know the wear tolerance? I have changed the bucket every 15k since I purchased the car (68k miles) and the original had very little wear. currently at 115k miles.
