Cigarette lighter - centre console

Hi guys,

Question, does the cigarette lighter in the centre console illuminate when the lights are on? Because I don't think mine does anymore... I'm sure it used too. Just started to notice it because of the dark UK mornings we've had recently.

Could of course all be in my imagination though, and never illuminated to start with
