Cutting out and won't start
« on: October 21, 2024, 09:52:21 am »
I'm looking for some guidance on what to check for the following issue:

Car started fine yesterday morning, made it about 1km from the house before it cut out on me and stopped. Car wouldn't start again. Left it for the day as I had plans and when I came back to it around 10 hours later it started up fine and ran no issues.

My thoughts so far:
- When I tried to start it after it died, fuel pump was trying but maybe it wasn't building enough pressure to start
- Not sure how the immobilizer works (does it cut ignition or fuel?) but there were no lights on the dash to show an issue and no codes relating to the immo
- I feel like it must be an electrical issue due to the intermittent nature of the issue
- I've replaced the fuel control module with a new genuine item recently (its not the first time its done this) and it hasn't fixed the issue

Any help or insights would be greatly received
