Starting and EPC light

On two occasions now separated by a few days, I've gone to start my car and it's turned over loads before it's actually fired up. When it has fired up it runs fine but the EPC light is on. If I turn the engine off, and start again it's fired up fine and the light goes off.

Any ideas what's going on?

Have you got any means of scanning the car? Wild guess would be a low pressure fuel pump issue, as said needs diag running on it

I was thinking fuel pump too. Is that a big job?

No means of plugging it in I'm afraid, it will be a trip to the garage for diagnostics

GVK:
It's accessible from under the rear seat the tank doesn't need to be removed to swap the pump.

Thanks - just watched a video and it looks a pretty easy job!
