Spark plug & Coil pack recommendations please
« on: November 25, 2024, 06:07:28 pm »
My 2007 mk5 Gti is Sputtering and misfiring at under load (normally 4th 5th 6th gear) have codes p300 and p0304 which would indicate Multiple misfires and Cylinder 4 misfire. So I'm guessing that means i need a coil pack for Cylinder 4. I'm toying with the idea of changing all 4 coil packs and spark plugs while I'm at it. Has anyone got any recommendations for the best coil pack and sparkplug combo???

I just used motor factor coil packs bought locally (cheap) and OE NGK plugs on my Edition 30 - I'd replace all four coil packs as if one has failed the rest will follow ... save any good ones you have left may get you out of a muddle sometime.

If not genuine coil packs used, I would go for NGK aftermarket as they make the genuine ones for the TFSI I believe, but then BOSCH are the genuine on my wife's 1.6 FSI MK5 Golf.

I would also go NGK on the sparkplugs

Have had the same problem after the car remap, used NGK 2667 BKR7EIX before, bought new ones one week ago together with NGK coil pack the red one and I'm really happy with it. You can't go wrong with NGK.
