intermittent non start
« on: December 12, 2024, 03:48:26 pm »
Hi, can anyone help me with this issue? sometimes my car has problems starting intermittently if i turn the car on off leave it for few mins then go to start again it will sometimes just crank for 15-20 secs then finally start also when driving if i come to a quick stop especially after giving it some it will drop the revs below idle or even cut out completely i have tried replacing the lpfp and still no change could it be the fprv?

Have you plugged it into VCDS to see if there is anything logged?

There are a lot of things to check, but it is shooting in the dark.

Fuel filter
HPFP follower
Cam wear
Carbon buildup on intake
Injectors

I have the same thing in mine. Some guy said it's cause of the aftermarket air intake but it does the same with the stock one. I think it's map related. The way you counter this is by keeping the clutch pressed in until revs hit the 1k mark, then it should catch it and it'll hang rather than drop and die.
