Misfire help!
« on: September 22, 2024, 03:12:44 pm »
Hi All,

Have a 05 AXX gti on 110k. So far plugs, coils have been changed. Injectors were replaced with R tech flow tested injectors. MAF airflow sensor has been changed and so has the pcv valve.

Despite all this the car misfires on idle. Has previously throwing a cylinder 1 misfire code which hasn’t appeared post the injectors being changed. New injectors and pcv have made the car run better but still lumpy on idle and popping.

Had a compression test done and the mechanic mentioned this was all good and the carbon build up was not too bad so we didn’t attempt to clean this.

Not sure if anyone has any tips or suggestions as I’m out of ideas
Thanks!

Hi mate, did you get to the bottom of this?  I'm looking at almost exactly the same thing, seems to be quite a few cars with this problem as well.  But then the forum threads always go quiet, dunno if people just move them on and give up.  Mine runs perfectly except for the occasional idle misfire.
