Remap/Stock downpipe question
« on: January 13, 2025, 02:54:02 pm »
Hi all,

Have mk5 gti which is remapped to about 260bhp and currently has a 200 cel sports cat which will no longer pass an emissions test. My friendly local mot tester has gone missing so need to sort something out.

Is there any issue with putting on a stock downpipe just for the mot?

Thanks

Nope, you're fine. At that power level doesnt matter if it's stock or no downpipe at all.

Just an update had the standard downpipe fitted on for the mot and passed no issues. Now at 140k miles I’m debating whether to throw some money at it or sell up and possibly import a mk7 from Japan.

Even tho I'm not a big fan of the hatchback look in general cause I prefer sedans, the mk7 is actually something I'd pick up if I ever replace my jetta
