MK5 Climatronic
« on: February 18, 2025, 04:42:55 pm »
Hello all,

I have a question regarding the behavior on the HVAC- Climatronic on your MK5. Are you happy with it?  I have another cars, A4 B7 and Leon MK3 and I just keep the clima set at 22ºC and all year it's good. But for the golf I always need to set the temperature lower or higher to obtain a comfort temperature. I don't know if it's something on the design, last year I replaced the A/C compressor now on hot days it works better but I need to set it at 18ºC for example.

No faults after scanning, maybe a temperature sensor is not working good?

I have the exact same thing with mine, I think it's just the clima module.

My 2009 with the new gen clima module (the one that says AC, not ECON) I set it to 22c and it's perfect for summer. With my 2006, old gen ECON clima, I set it to 18c to get the same result..

Thank you for sharing the experience. Mine is a 2006, it says AC on the climatronic menu.

I have read and hear that the MK5 GTI HVAC system was not very good designed but it can not be that bad... I have the car since 6 year aprox and always had this feeling.
