Had my Edition 30 a year now so was about time I put up a thread of the ups and downs of running a high miles Edition 30. Previously had a mk5 gti shadow blue 3 door DSG for 7 years. After a short time with a modern Audi I decided it was time to find an Edition 30 with a better specification than my last car had to be a 5 door and dsg and no sunroof.
This car turned up on Facebook, Decent spec, loads of upgrades, low owners and lots of history and bonus of having the paintwork corrected.

As pictured in the advert.High mileage, but the gearbox was smoother than my previous car with 90k so that sold it for me. A few bits to do, I enjoy the challenge.
My previous shadow blue gti.

First changes were to remove the 3D number plates and stickers. , fit a front gti badge, , number plate surround and original vw badge.

Next was to make some adjustments to the suspension, the car came with bilstein b16’s but they were set too hard for me and the car looked too low at the back. Rears adjusted and rear spacers fitted to even it up as it already had front spacers to clear the brakes.
