VCDS 091 - 093
« on: Yesterday at 09:57:36 pm »
Hello everyone. I need help. I checked my Golf 5 Gti BWA engine code car with vcds. The 091 section was around 32 instead of 28 and the 093 didn't even show the degree difference. I think this is a big problem?! It has 290,000 km on it and theoretically everything was replaced at 190,000 km. What could be causing me to not see any values in 093? Thank you for your help. Sorry for my English, I'm from Hungary.

I would need to see a screenshot of all that data as I would be making a lot of assumptions32 degrees is a lot and surprised it is running, as it should be within 0 to 0.5 + or - of 28 (24 on the earlier GTI)

So would say the chain is REALLY stretched and/or it was fitted incorrectly

Here is what mine was with a slight chain rattle before I replaced a worn cam phasers, chain and seals at 120K miles

The phase position should be 0 to -/+3 max and there should not be more than -/+0.5 on the adjustment intake B1 for healthy timing (when engine is hot)
