Interesting Engine Oil Video

I wasn't actually looking for anything about oil, but this popped up on YouTube and I thought it was quite interesting so thought I'd share it.

I feel like people are overthinking when it comes to oil. You should find something that fits your driving habits and fits the manufacturer specs.
Since I've moved to 0w40 Mobil 1 FS I don't get cold chain rattles. Oil pressure is on point and the car feels overall great. However I do my oil changes every 3k miles. Maybe overkill but oil is cheap.

I use LM 5W50 Molygen and change every 6k km. It's what pretty much everyone here recommends besides Valvoline VR1.

In my old TDI with 230k miles on I started using 5/40 instead of 5/30 and found it used less oil between changes. When I got this car it had Mobil 1 5/30 in but it was using oil which I know is normal for these engines but thought I'd try when I did the oil change last month VW Quantum 5/40 just to see if it helps with the oil consumption.

I use 5W40 in spring/summer, and then 5W30 in autumn/winter in increase warm up times.

Works well for me.
