Karcher hose extensions
« on: April 10, 2010, 09:45:33 pm »
I don't know about you guys but my handheld karcher has a short power cord. This means I need to move the unit around with one hand, the lance in the other, and have a long trail of power cord and hosepipe around the car. Very frustrating, especially with the tangling.

You can buy an official Karcher 6m hose extension. For £35-45 (depending on the reseller).

Or for £15, you can buy this: clicky

Connects just fine and no problems with it so far. The Karcher unit stays in the garage with the power cord and hosepipe far apart whilst you walk around with just a lance.

Makes life so much easier.

Bought this from B&Q today. Stunning value! The quality is immense for the price, with lovely brass fittings.

I was going to spend £35 on a 10m karcher hose, but after adding this to my existing PW hose I have 14m!!!!

What a difference. :congrats:  The hose that came with my karcher was only 2.5m long... :surprised:

I'm glad mine has a 12m hose, the pressure washer doesn't move an inch when I'm washing and I can get more than all the way around a car too ;)

bumping an old thread here, Stealth how are you getting on with this extension pipe? and could you tell me a bit more on how it connects with it being a universal fit?

im getting fed up of dragging the pipes/cables around. And its to fit a baby karcher 2.65

cheers

You need to check the connectors. Karcher have updated them to quick-release version. This extension worked beautifully with my Karcher. It's not a "universal fit" - it has M22 female connectors either side. It comes with male-male M22 adaptors so you can connect one side to the hose on the lance (which will be female M22) and the other to the Karcher unit (male M22).

I've since moved on to a Nilfisk pressure washer unit and instead of paying £70 for a new hose extension of the same length, I've paid £20 or so for some adaptors to use this with the Nilfisk.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Any chance of the links for the Nilfisk hose extension (cheap version)?

The hose extension is still the same as the one above.

The adaptors I've bought are these ones off qwasher on ebay: clicky and clicky.

Thanks Stealth i dont think mine is a quick release as the original hose screws on to the karcher, and is a push fit held with a clip into the trigger/gun.

ive reserved 1 to pick up tomorrow so fingers crossed it should fit. :happy2:

The B&Q one?
Yup. £15+£25 = £40.

The Nilfisk hose was priced at £70 at the time I was trying to figure out what to do, so I decided spending £25 for some adaptors was a lot better than £70 for an entire new hose. Plus it would have been pointless trying to sell a £15 hose.

Ok following now, the Nilfisk 10m hose seems to be about £40 on the bay at the mo if people are interested...
