As far as I've been advised its the map that gives you that extra mid range although you need the pump to get the map if that makes sense. I had the pump fitted and went from stage 1 to 2 (not 2+ plus) and didn;t get a big or and real noticable increase in mid range. Although there was an improvement all thoughout the rev range.
I suppose if you get the 2+ you are more likely to get clutch slip and wheel spin?
....
stage 2 doesnt feel like it gives you that much more power really, just lets you hold power for longer thus smoothing the delivery out a bit giving the effect that its not that much different. It is most definitely faster though as some timed in gear runs would show. Stage 2+ really ups the midrange. i wouldnt bother with stage 2 next time. id go straight to stage 2+.
You get more wheel spin with all the engine mods. its simple physics. you just drive the car differently. Also yoyu need to look into chassis mods to harness that power. my vRS didnt have any issues in the dry. It was just the wet which aggrevated me. I never suffered from clutch slip at all in the 30000miles of being mapped and tracked frequently.
What remap have you got? Revo request more fuel than other rmaps so fitting a HPFP alone yields gains without tweaking the map. Bluefin doesnt request anywhere near the maximum rail pressure @ stage 1/2 so you very likely wouldnt notice the difference between oem or uprated without mapping
