Black roof lining in MK5's?

Hi guys,

Could you tell me which mk5's came with the black roof lining? I have it in my mk5 but have seen other mk5's (Tdi models mainly) with the light grey one?

Do people ever consider upgrading to the black setup as I did this with my old mk4 and fitted a mk4 anni interior setup which looked better.

I have one, got it to retrim but realised it was a shame to ruin it! Only thing I can't find is the B pillars, seem to have lost those

Reserved for the higher models, GTI's and R32s. Although I've seen one or two early R32s with cream headlining.

Hi Darren, yes the roof lining I have spare is for a 3 door but I have heard it can fit a 5 door with some tweaking! got all grab handles, a and C pillars.

Maybe worth putting in the classifieds?

Bit of a long shot but, don't suppose you've still got the spare headlining etc have you bud??

The Golf V originally came with light grey headlining. The GTI was set to come with the grey headlining as well but as it was a pet project of Piech they were able to get black (anthracite really) headlining past the beancounters (who said it would be too expensive for a low-volume halo vehicle). The R32 used the same black headlining.

R32s and GTIs with cream leather came with cream roof lining.

Ive got a black one in my TDI as i retrofitted the whole lot!

its a big big job! pretty much all the whole interior has to come out including rear door cards and all the seats! lol
