Best oil for track

I don't know what to choose for track between 300V 5W30 and 5W40. Here's the specs :

300 V Power
5W-40

Hurdy why 5w-30?

The Revo guys here told me to use 5W-40 ( so I did).

Why?

Agreed, 5w30 is the correct viscosity for normal roadcar useage.  But differing compromises may be needed for track useage.
