chopper:
thanks, im going to have another crack at getting them on, this time with a 10mm spacer recommended by brembo supplier. if that doesnt work, il be sending them back.

big al:
How much damage do these do to the wallet? Took my car for its service and was told needed to replace brakes and discs within the next 6 months, so want to make sure I have the cash ready for a good setup.

--- Quote from: gobbleplease on April 17, 2010, 04:31:01 pm ---The spec is AP Pro 5000 calipers (race calipers that are abit lighter than the road APs and loads lighter than the standard GTI set up), 2 piece 330mm x 28mm vented grooved discs, HEL Carbon fibre look braided hoses, and 2 sets of pads one for track and one for road DS 2500 (road) Pagid Blues (track)

So, the difference between this and the normal Golf MK5 GTi & TDi - Front 4 Piston Kit CP5200-1056 (http://www.apracing.com/info/products.asp?product=+Golf+MK5+GTi+%26+TDi+-+Front+4+Piston+Kit+CP5200-1056+_1728_1064) and AP Pro 5000 calipers is that the last one are a liitle bit lighter? In their specs they seem to have the same weight:

and

Please, if there is any information you have about the differences, please, tell me.
I am searching for information for my brake upgrade because I would like to actually have brakes when I go to the track :D. I am tracking to Nurburgring and Hungaroring and I would like to have proper braking.
Thank you.

P.S. I only have ~160 bhp, but I need better brakes and the R32 setup is not an issue because of the weight.
