Thumbs up for Scott telling me to push the mirrors forward past their natural position and the screw is visible

I never knew that the mirrors folded forwards as well
that was me!! :innocent:

and to golfman didnt you fancy them cheap ones off ebay?
Hi howard i bought the cheap ones off of ebay(thanks for the link) :happy2: but to be honest i didn't think they lit up the area very well, they are good for a quick fix to get rid of the horrible yellow ones i had,but after finally getting my led ones working there is no comparison.

cheers

scott
what did you do to get them to work correctly?

howard dont feel bad for recomending them to me they were only a couple of pound anyway
i had to push them right in then pull them out a bit until the light came on and then gently put them back in the mirror housing and hey presto :happy2:

Got mine from the E-bay link. Number plate lights seem fine. Headlight bulbs have been nothing but error filled hassle  :sad1:

These are the number plate lights

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LED-NUMBER-LICENCE-PLATE-BULBS-VW-GOLF-MK5-PASSAT-06-/300408719591?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f1c148e7#ht_1731wt_1167

And these are the sidelight bulbs

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LED-SIDELIGHT-BULBS-VW-GOLF-MK5-MK6-PASSAT-SCIROCCO-06-/350330441627?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5191524f9b#ht_1731wt_1167

those number plate lights are the ones i bought and they stopped working after a few weeks, another guy on the forum got them from that ebay seller and had the same problem. If you find they stop working email the seller as he does give refunds because he knows some keep breaking.

The ones you'll need will be the ones that say they wont give CANBUS errors otherwise they wont draw enough power and the CANBUS will think they're dead and flag a bulb fault AFAIK.
