It was £170 to do the bumper, but tbh the body shop that done it was crap!!  It toke a fair bit of hassel to get it looking spot on again as im a fussy fooker.

Well heres an update:  I'm off to France in two weeks, and this weekend is only one with some spare time.  So i thought i would detail the GTI as being meaning to do it since i had it.  And the thought of driving in France with the bugs welding to the paint work i thought i best protect it a bit.

I forgot to take pics before etc and only doing it after DOH.  Brief of what i done for thouse whos interested:

Wash car
Clayed
Toke wheels off, painted disc inlays silver.  Better than the rust that was on them!!  Also put a layer of poor boys all over the alloys.
Started to have a slight correct of the paint, nothing to bad just to cut it back a bit and get few marks out of the paint. done with porta cable.
Then went of the car with Dodo juice pre wax clean lime juice.
Polish the car with wet look (cant remember the make)
Then went over with Dodo juice soft wax purple
Left for over an hour then put a coat od Dodo jucie hard wax blue.
Clean the plastic with auto glym bumper care.
Cleaned glass
And wiped over engine bay.  Heres the pics (sorry im no good with a camera!):

Wheel:

Excuse me in the photos!!

Some outside pics:

Hopefully didnt bore you to much!  Least its nice and clean now, the bugs wont be able to stick to it to easy!!! lol

+1. With black paint, IMO, the best demonstration of the quality of detailing is the reflection of the shot.

I once saw a pic of someone's garage roof. Perfectly clear. Didn't realise it was the paintwork on his car!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
